You folks who have been fortunate enough to hear a live show....what are they usually like? I have the St Andrews DVD, and it appears to be a small club. Is that the usual venue (as opposed to huge stadiums, etc)? Is there even a "usual" setting?

Live music has changed since I was younger. Growing up near a big university (Mizzou), I saw many live events in small auditoria...a great (and wild...this was the early- to mid-70's) setting. The few events in a field house were very controlled and not as much fun. I also like clubs and bars, but since kicking the cigs, I avoid the clouds.

Sweet! There was some great energy and interplay happening - I can't wait to hear it again! Thanks, Mike!

Hey Nancy, the Shorty's show turned out great. The performance was just amazing and the recording's clear and complete. For those in other geographies, there were both an acoustic solo set and two electric sets with numerous guest Souldiggers and hot improvisational jams. I'm happy to have been able to have captured the music in a recording for preservation. Once I have it all tracked out, I'll get in uploaded....AND, Nancy promised she'd remember the entire setlist along with the ever-changing cast on stage of guest jammers, so we'll challenge her memory with that part of the project. ;)

Mike, I will note, has put some great ones up there and one of my favorites is Geoff with Randall Bramblett - its wonderful. How did the one turn out for the Shorty's show last week? Another stunning show.

I, too, live in the Atlanta area and am fortunate enough to have the pleasure of seeing Geoff reasonably often when he's in the states. I catch as many performances as I can and record all I attend. Geoff graciously allows us to document performances on the Live Music Archive, so once you've listened to all the releases, you can find some shows there as well.
Regards...Michael

Thanks, Ken! My sister lives in Clemson, SC, so I do occasionally visit the area. I first heard the music on a weekly blues program that I listened to while at work. Back then, obtaining disks was a bit more difficult than it is now. Discovering this site was a fluke that happened when I did a check of what might be new.

I just received "One Ticket, One Ride" and the DVD version of the last St Andrews album. That's the next best thing to hearing the music live. I've entered my plug for a Midwest appearance and will hope for the best!

Regards....Tom

Hi Tom,
I guess I'm one of the "lucky ones" to live in the Atlanta area. I didn't discover Geoff until he was about to return to Australia after living in the Atlanta area for couple of years. Thankfully, the friendships he made here keep him coming back (three "farewell" gigs this year!). I don't think Geoff will be back in the U.S. until May next year. That gives you some time to build a Missouri fan base!
Here are links to photos I took earlier this year:

I just noticed this section, so I joined. I live in Missouri and first discovered Geoff and his music while listening to a weekly blues show on KJLU out of Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

I ordered several albums through Nancy Lewis-Pegel....this was over two years ago. Back then, there was no fan web site. Last month, I listened to one of my disks and happened to check on what was new with Geoff. I discovered
Othis site, ordered the new CD and the DVD of the St Andrews Hotel event. I had a few back and forth emails with Michelle, and here I am.

I noticed that, at least recently, Geoff's US tour events seem to all be in the east. I mentioned this to Michelle and am hoping that someday there may be an event in the Midwest I can attend. In the mean time, we gotta get the word out....I am certain that there are FAR more than a dozen of us in the US that love Geoff and the band!

Hey Y'all!
Our US Tour dates for September are in the 'Events' schedule now.
Click on 'All Events' and scroll down. The first off the rank is Sept 10 at The Court Street Grill in Pomeroy.
It will be a lightning visit but there are dates in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina and then a short weekend in Atlanta GA before the UK Tour. Please help us spread the word.
